Does anyone have a part number for the proper thrust washer for running a Yamaha Drag on a Merc small shaft?

You can also run the standard Yamaha washer by cutting the rear lip off of it. This will allow a full thread through the locking portion of a standard Merc prop nut.

I thought the yama washers had a differant taper on the prop shaft than a Merc ? Mike

I've been running the brass F225 Yamaha washer with lip sawed off on a small shaft merc and a 24" yamaha drag for a year with no problem. I am a Yamaha dealer and just happen to have tons of them laying around so that is what I use.

As long as you saw off the lip, they will work fine. The lip can get into the seals on some Mercury gear cases and needs to be removed. The brass one is much lighter than the old stainless one.

There is a difference of 1 degree of taper on the cone of the prop shaft between Mercury and Yamaha, if I remember correctly.

Someone sells purpose-made washers, but I think that guy is not a certified vendor here.

However, with a soft washer on a hard shaft, the washer will probably change shape to fit the prop shaft.

I have ordered the kit from Performance Props and i will have future Yamahas re-hubbed for Merc.

Thanx for the replies.
