need help obtaining a title

i purchased a 1991 yamaha xt 225 at town of brookhaven auction, i got a bill of sale with it, anyway, i shipped the machine to fla and am having problems trying to register it, because i do not have a salvage title, fla wants to know why the machine is salvage, and the town is of no help, anyone have any ideas??? i paid 380$ for it and the machine runs mint

is it in their records that its salvaged? maybe you can just put a bond out on the bike to register it and say the title is lost. i registered my xr400 by doing that as i had no title or certificate of origin. the guy i have homeowners ins through put a bond out for $50.00. dont know if this will help but good luck...........................dave
