Boatmender, Inline Six or anyone else who has installed the newer style rubrail on the Viper - do you have a picture of the end of the rubrail, in other words how did you finish it off at the ends?

I don't know what it looks like but can't you screw or bond a piece of aluminum on it? I don't mean a chunk of angle but some stock rod or bar thats sanded to shape.

I did a search today and found a few good hints, most notably the one about securing the rubrail at the stern corners and the bow, and coming back to do the sides later. I see no point in marking the midpoint of the rubber, as I'm sure it stretches a lot as you pull it around hot.

Still need a pic of the aft corner - not sure how to do this.

the center gives you a reference. john S actually marks the center for a reason. heat is the real key.

I cut off a little piece today and threw in boiling water. Gets nice and soft!

that right. i left the rail in a tub od 200+ water while i attached it. by putting the tub on a moving dolly it was able to rotate as well. the hotter you keep it the easier is is to install.
