hoppin up a zukie, never saw it done but if I was guessin I would say shave the head, put in some reeds, and some new jets in the carb's. Maby put in some port work.

sounds good but parts are hard to find for this motor. i've never seen another 3cyl 65 short shaft zukie besides this one....
i had to fabricate a bracket to make it a tiller cause most parts are discontinued for this motor.
....how fast are slt's running w/ stock 50's and stock 70's?

Suzukis are good to work beacuse of the exhaust plate its nice and easy to get to the exhaust port..
I have done a few 2 cyl 45 johnsons, getting around 70mph on fibreglass tunnels.
My engine is the 3 cyl johnson, havent kilo'd it yet but its mid 90's.
The 45's are cleaned up, lightened, balanced and figer ported. Skim the head down and deck the block to get the squish nice and tight..
I'd try get it to 150 psi if you still running pump gas.. You guys have 98 there?

hey i know theres not much info out there on a suzuki, but does any one know if parts are interchangeable between the 65hp, 75hp, and 85hp models? they are all 3cyl motors, mine is a 1985 dt 65hp short shaft.
do u think carbs from a 75 or 85 would be a good idea? are the powerheads the same? what are the cubic inches? and will a 75 or 85 powerhead mount on my 65 short midsection? I JUST WANT TO GO FASTER!!

so does anyone have suggestions? im only running a suzuki bc that's the only motor that was available to me. these 15inch mids are hard to come by in this hp. maybe id be better off with a johnson! -u guyz seem to know more about them than suzukis!

Try A-1 Cycle Marine Cedar Rapids, Ia. They Had Been Messin With Suzuki Mods Back In The Early Nineties , Was Told Then That They Could Get 120 Hp From 75 Hp 3 Cyl Powerhead, I Never Got Into The Details With Them But Give Them A Shout If They Are Still Around!
Was Ten Years Ago Since I Have Had Contact So Hope They Still Around!!! I Have Owned A Few From 25hp To 140efi And Always Performed Very Well Against All Other Brands, Had A 15' Viper With A 140 Carb That Would Outrun Many V-6 Hydrostreams And Switzers In 700' With 24p Chopper. Very Good Low End Torque And Mid Punch. Good Luck And Stay With The Zuki.

thanks ill have to check them out.... -i was beginning to think no one on here knew ne thing about suzuki's. the only downside to owning this motor is that parts are hard to find and no works on them. ...i think its a great motor though- tons of power and good punch and i think w/ some small mods it can really "scream and fly"
