I was wondering if it is possible to use an OMC remote oil tank with a Mercury motor. I bought a boat with a merc motor but it has an omc oil tank. I need to know if this actually works or if I need to get a merc oil tank. I am not familiar with how either system works. I do not plan on running the boat till spring so I have time to make sure everything is working.
Thanks
Mark

No it will not work. The OMC tank is vented, the Mercury is pressurized. Used Mercury tanks and rigging are available used quite cheaply, many discard them and pre-mix their oil.

It can be done if you have a FFI oil tank. One line is pressure one line is feed.
Disable the vent in the cap.

I will have to check the part number on the tank as it may be from a ficht. The wiring harnes that I pulled out that was not hooked up looks the same as neighbors ficht harness.

even a better idea... take all the oil injection krap off and premix your oil...:)

I just took a complete system off of a 200 Merc if you want it.
It has all the tanks, (2), and hoses, drive gears, oil pump, fuel pump, and all in between.
Near givaway price.
PM me if you are interested, (my e-mail notification isn't working.)
