erratic engine temp on a 280

i ran the boat this weekend and noticed my temperature was running at 133 to 135 degrees .i just so happened to look down at my datastream and noticed the temp start falling down to about 109degrees for about three or four minutes and then started to climbed back up to 133 degrees.this happened while cruising between 4500 and 5000 rpms.drove for about another 30 minutes or so and the temp was steady at 135degrees.temp sensor ? cooling system?

I would think that's about right, I believe the 280's run about 130ish. When I run mine in cooler water, gauge might not even show 100 degrees. They do not use poppet or t'stats. Manual shows .4-.6 PSI at idle and at WOT 10.2 PSI min. and 15 PSI recommened. I would check all the ground connections. when mine runs cooler I generally keep my foot out of it.. hope that helps..

thanks john .i have checked grounds and connections.it was just strange to see the temp going down while i was at steady speeds .surface water temp around hear right now is about 64 degrees.
