I have a 15" mercury 2.4 BP with a 2.4 BP adapter and tuner that I currently run. Can I run a 260 nic motor on this plate or will I loose power from the plate and tuner being that it's for a 2.4 and smaller?

Do I need to switch to a 2.5 plate with a 260 tuner to get the most out of the 260?

I already have the 2.4 plate drystacked so cooling is not a problem for any engine I mount:eek:

That is probably one of the best combinations you could ever get! I have the same thing. 2.5 260EFI on a 2.4 offshore mid and adapter. Just make sure that the adapter exhaust holes match up to the 260 exhaust perfectly.
My adapter plate is from a 2.4 Mod VP motor. The 2.4 adapter plates actually allow the motor to run a little warmer than the 2.5 plates which actually let the motor run a bit to cool. The 2.4 plates bleed off the water just a bit slower and allow the motor to retain a bit more heat. Don't change tuners, yours is as good as it gets!
