i'm rebuilding a 96 promax that the ring pin came out on one cylinder. after pulling the other pistons and measuring them. they don't meet the mercury spec(3.494 +/-.001). that is tight. mine measure 3.490-3.492. are these usable? they look good. very little to no scuffing on skirts. look new after cleaning. going to top pin them. what would be an exceptable limit of reusing them? these things are like a $170 apeice new, but would like to use the thin ring stuff. thanks
I would double check that your Mic is right on and you are measuring in the correct place. It would be unusual to see little to no ware on the piston yet it Mics that small.
