Im Going To Change The Gears In My Sportmaster(hopefully Soon). There Is Nothing Wrong, I Just Want Different Gears. Should I Take It Somewhere To Be Done Or Buy The Tools/manual And Do It Myself? If Do It Myself, How Much Are The Tools And Where Do I Get Them? What Are The Pro's And Con's?

Smart money says pay a competent tech to do it.
You will go to school on your first one, and in the end, it could cost you far more then just paying someone that does it for a living.
Here is a thread that lists the required tools to DYI.
Some are essential and some you can you can improvise.

george, theres a guy in lakeland/winterhaven area name is craig collabella or something close to that he does excellent work and reasonable, he worked at lake x when it was there and did all the lower's, he opened his own shop and i've seen his work and have known many people that swear by him.. ive (assisted) a few of my lower projects and trust me, its not worth the time and materials/tools to get started as the result could be expensive,if you want his number ill get it for you .

The tools needed to do the job right will cost as much as another lower unit... Find you a good mechanic and pay him.:)
