Price Of New O/Bs

I just checked a link to Bass & Walley (Sp?) mag over on the post, for sale, of the 25' Power Play. They tested the 250 hps O/Bs, Merc seemed be the winner, and I was shocked to see their list prices. They all were at least 19K, and I guess thats with rigging? Anyway, I recall seeing some adds within the last year for left over Merc 250XBs for about 13K. I know they're powerfull, 275 ponies, and they do suck up gas but are the new 250XSs worth paying that much more for???

Nice site Bash. Good value on the 300xs. Looks like Merc has a pair of winners with the two. The price difference between the two isn't much. I guess that the extra 50 ponies is real cost effective.

I'd go with the 300XS anyway, at least on a bass boat or lake boat. Running offshore the 250 probably be a wizer choice. Mercury is releasing the 250ProXS for 2007, and reports say it will be as strong as the 250XS but have a better warranty.
