because your brains have leaked out your right ear
(all 3 brain cells)from turning left to much.Between
that and the BS you can't see out of the right side of your canopy, clean it off or you won't be able to see me run
around you like a picket fence. It's a good thing the APBA
doesn't do brain scans cause you couldn't pass anything!

Racemore,I am running the boat this weekend to get some good pictures of it. I was wondering if you would mind helping out . I need some pictures of it running wide open, I thought you could get some nice shots from behind me. Let me know if you want to help. Bah!

If you are talking about the sterling full tunnel with S bottom, I have two of them. Stock they are not so great, but with bottom mods such as flattening, sharpening, larger splash rails and after plains in the tunnel the 50 MPH porpoising will stop. Then with 300 HP the boat will run 103 MPH. Its a great boat for chop to big for the Mirage or STV, thats when the fun starts.

It has a full tunnel,XTLis the prefix on the hull Id#.
It's regestered as a raceboat, light layup and has very
little porpoising at all. the boat loves rough water for
sure. When I got the boat the 200 had weak compression but
would turn a 22drag prop 7800+ through 1.78 gears in a
small Inline case.Low to mid 80's.Since then freshened up
the motor and went to an alpha with 1.87 gears, only have a
couple of hours on it so I haven't leaned it out to see
what prop i'll turn now.You said 300hp is that a V8? I'm
thinking this boat could use a shallow center pod to clean
up the water a little, what do you think. Two of them, want to sell one?Where are you at? I have somebody trying to talk me out of it but untill I see how fast it will go I can't do it. Thanks for the reply.

No V8, Its a modified S3000 Merc V6. I'm still wondering if its the same boat I have. The ones I have were only made in 1978 and 1979. The last two digits in the serial # would be 79 or 79. Mine are Just over 16 ft. Do you have any pictures.

I don't think it's the same boat.My boat is 18' 7" and
looks like a 19'daytona eliminator except no center pod.
If your boat was made by the same company your hull ID# will
start with XTL, thats Sterling boat co.in Orlando Fl.,they closed up in 1984.If the weather is good this weekend i'll take some pictures, wish I had a S3000,I would give some
people around Jacksonville lockjaw. Oh mine is a 1983,well got to go to work.Check up later.
