This new D50 is a blast~! Took about fifty pics the first few hours of touching it and have been studying the manual inside and out. Its a gem for sure.

It came with a 1 gig Lexar Professional SD Card @ 133x Speed.

I want to buy another stick or two but don't know what to get for general purpose shooting.

Thank you much as always.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. I think it comes down to how many pictures you are willing to lose if the card dies. 1GB is a good start. I have been considering picking up a 2GB card myself. It is just a coin toss...

I've had great luck with SanDisk's. I have a few regular 1GB's and a Ultra II 2GB

For the D50, you really do not need a high-speed card. The D50 really doesn't clear its buffer fast enough to take advantage of an ultra high-speed card. But quality does matter, and cards can fail. Personally, I only use SanDisk CF cards (Extreme III). Any SanDisk card will work fine. Lexar is also a very high quality card.

Too easy then.
No sense spending almost double for a higher speed card when its not really needed.

Kind regards,
Jamie:)
