If any, what is the difference between a 245 block and a 260? I have a 245 mated with a 225 promax injection and I am wanting to know if this a good setup and what I can do to make it better.

I run the laser injection on my ported 2.5. It has better response in the mid range than a horn motor and a little less on top. I suggest installing a PCU and Laser SVS from Brucato. Both of these made a big difference on throttle response and the SVS made up on the top end.....saves somes gas too and I feel it is a better setup than a horn. Run a 1" spacer to get the injectors away from the read cages. Run a one piece adapter plate with a 260 or 280 bell tuner or Taylor SST-90. Dry stack the exhaust (Jay Smith way to keep the mid looking good). Mill the heads to 145-150 psi cranking compression. Cut out and smooth exhaust chest. Cut block on transfer ports (by rod slots) so intake charge has a straight shot. Use reed cages with rubber reed mating surface.

Just a few ideas to get you close to 280hp or higher:eek:

Oh yea the difference between the two blocks are a 245 had carbs instead of injection (Horn)otherwise I think they are the same but I have not tore a 245 apart so I'm not positive on this statement. I know they are both nic motors and maybe the 245 has some bleed ports due to the carbs....if it has the bleed ports plug'em
Good luck!!

The two blocks are identical in every way, including the internals. The 245 blocks are drilled on the side for bleed hoses. You can either put caps on the elbows or remove em and plug the holes.
