I have an 16' aluminum fishing boat with an 87 evinrude 30hp motor (tiller)and even with the trim pin at it's lowest setting the boat porposes like crazy. Would moving the motor higher on the transom help correct this problem? I am pretty sure the motor has the stock prop.
Now a different question..... The owners manual shows that motors from 20hp tp 35hp used the same powerhead. Is the hp difference in the tuning or are there different carbs for each hp? After all........ more power is better right????? For me that could be a 17% gain.

Thanks,

Mike.

you might try shifting some weight further to the front of the boat (fuel tank, beer cooler etc) and as I have always said "Horsepower is like sex you can't get enough" :D good luck with the set up. Jimmy

There used to be some guy here on S&F that raced them on the St. Mary's River.A friend of mine got one and it was said to run 65-70.I was at the ramp watching him try and keep that thing in the water and it's not automatic. He did get it flat but it's always skippin a little. It had a cage with a Yamadog with a nosecone a worked sst prop.Pretty cool.
