Don't have an A-Boat but I guess I would have to ask which A-Boat, they don't all run the same. Allison even claims some pretty high speeds in their ads with modest engines. I have to beleive it isn't a fully loaded fishing rig with a porta-potty like you got Nick. :D

Oophs, I guess that porta-potty was on your luxury liner pontoon boat with reclining leather seats, headlights, bouncing dog, and inebriated people. :eek: Who me....you must be thinking about someone else

Well, you know me. I'm always optimistic. But based on what I've sold with those motors before (two XB2003 bass boats), I think high 80s is certianly a possibility.

It won't be a stone stock 175. It'll have a low water pickup nosecone on it, etc. He had a price point he had to stay at, so that was the most logical engine for the money.

As for getting you out of the hole....sure...if he's running a 24 and you've got a 32 on. Brad probably didn't mention that little requirement :D

For what he's looking for, I think it would be a great boat to get him into hot boating. You guys won't know what hit you when the "velvet hammer" comes at you in stealth mode. Not used to seeing boats like that without relieved exhaust.

He'll be able to keep up - he'll just have to have his foot to the floor while you run around at half throttle.

He was asking about the Grand Sport. I told him that 175 will have more punch for pulling water skiers than the HiPerf Mercs. He also said that you were going to kick some Ally butt this summer with your Riot. I told him you should not expect to be picking on SS2000's with 280's The Riot and the Allsion are both very, very fast boats. In fact out of the hole the Allison could win. Top end speed should be yours. I ran 94mph with a 225 on a Grand Sport. He should run in the 80's with a 175.

Have you been playing on the river yet??

Anyway just got home from Barrington.....picked up the boat and dropped it off at Freds for a cockpit cover.....Tricity canvas in waconda.
Boat has ta go back ta God first before seat time.....few changes and tweaks.....then prop test time.....have 8 new wheels ta try then over to your house ta humbly borrow your wheels for testing !!
Either way ya look at it I hope Steve gives Sam some business!!!

I was at Sams Sat. for a little L/U work from Jeff, I got to see Brads new Bad _SS boat, man I thought the 3 O/B was awesome this thing was increadable can't wait to see it blow by me or at least watch it run.

My poor Yellow ally ain't got a chance (unless we are running 1000") whatcha think Brad.

That things got 2 speed trannies in it. I think it may be the new king of Blarney this year. Nothing like 2000 HP kicking you square in the butt....I don't care HOW much that boat weighs.

We ran it on the hoses and it really didn't sound too bad with the new mufflers. If you close them all the way on their quietest setting, it's downright liveable. I don't know if it'll pass necessarily, but because of the way the boat looks, it sort of seems quiet....here's a picture.

Jeff Baker found a loose ground wire on one of the motors. It is alive once again. The sound is like a drag race blower car. Bad..... The mufflers help quite a bit. Problem is the blower whine is rather loud also. I guess 14:71 roots style will do that. Buzz me anytime about the props.

If the boat is on plane and I am in first gear I almost peed my pants the first time I nailed it. The other boat ran 93+ mph in 1000 feet. This one will make the triple look like it is in reverse from zero to 100mph. The two speed make a hugh difference! I drove a 36' Spectre with twin 1000's ( regular transmission) in Florida before I bought this. No comparsion.
