Alien cover on a Optimax?

Has anyone done this? Will it work?
I know the pan and cover will have to be changed but will it work?

200 XS motors available from Merc are a 2.5 200 Optimax powerhead under an alien cowl. So in 2.5 liter motors, it will definately fit. Merc 3 liters may be a different animal, though. Alien cowls are pretty large, so if yours is a three liter I would measure carefully. It just might fit
