Hey guys, just wondering if I actually need to winterize my 1982 115 Merc if I keep it indoors for the winter. The garage won't be heated. Please assist if you would.

Rich, anytime the engine will sit for extended periods, you should 'winterize' it.

Hey Big Al, I will touch base with you when I am ready. Do me a favor and send me an email or a PM with your contact info so I can give you a call. By the way, I want a ride on your boat, it looks sweet in the videos!

I believe winterization is always good. its not just the act of the winterization but a good time to check you stuff out. changing lower gear oil not just to check for water but to put fresh in. also you see if there is any metal or problems. pulling plugs. looking at them to see if there are any problems starting. maybe using a scope light to look in the cyls. spraying down the engine to stop corrosion. there are many benifits to maintance on your engine. don't put it away without sometime on it. see ya
