Looking to buy a 2.5 cover and the base

Those new Alien cowlings aren't cheap. I know when new there like 2400$. And I don't know about used ones. I haven't seen any.

If you're looking at that boat with the 2.4 hood on it, why don't you do this....the picture you sent me of your vulture has a pre 98 2.5 hood on it. Why don'y you put the 2.4 hood on the vulture's 2.4, then put the 2.5 hood on the 2.5? The 98 and newer hoods are pretty heavy and it's harder to work on the engines with the high lower cowling piece.

What kind of idiot would spend 2 grand for a cowl?

No, that's not correct. Closer to $1500 top and bottom retail. That's still rediculous, but with the amount of markup between dealer and retail, you should be able to get it for under a grand.
