Does anybody know if I can add a rev limiter to my 84 200 2.4 carb engine. I think some Bridgeports had one that wasn't in the ECU. Could these be added to my electronics? Thanks
Yes the BP did have an ignition rev limiter. It cuts the ignition a 7500 RPM. I might have one for you. Email me this weekend and I'll look.

Thanks John. I'll be at the river testing, but should have (slow) internet access.

My question is why do you want one? That is one of the main things in going fast is to remove it.

how many rpms are you turning that you feel you need to regulate???????
A stock 200 hardly makes enough torque and HP above 6500 to even get in the range of a 7500 RPM limiter, unless you lose a prop or a gearcase and it spins free.
Whatever.
Here's the diagram for a BP "2.4 EFI"
