I AM TRYING TO GET STARTED IN DRAG RACING AND WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT SOME INFO ON WHAT IT TAKES TO RUN 10'S IN THE .25 AND 8'S IN 1000 ft.
I FOUND A 79 TAYLOR WITH A 454 LOCALLY, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF TAYLORS CAN MAKE DRAG BOATS?

About 20 grand, would be a good start.
Disable that caps lock key on your next pass, please.

try posting in a more used forum. I think you will get more advice if your post was placed in a forum that more people are watching. Try the loung or something of that sort. Remember your a newbie here and you got to get whre these guys will see your posts if you want there input. Just my opinion though. I think you should go V-drive. It takes more power to go fast in a jet. We all know more power = more$$$$. Something to think about. See what others think though. Oh yeah, I am a newbie too. So do not take offenses to the newbie comment. Peace out.
Those are not drag boats. A Taylor jet boat with a 454 is going to get spanked by everything, every day. :D

The best place to get Taylor info is found right here http://p208.ezboard.com/bthetaylorboatsroost52059 Duane at HTP judt redid and Taylor for the original Taylor owners, the boat was runnin in the high 90's, something you might look into.
With 700+ HP, I sure hope it would be getting into the 90's...

Pyro there are a couple shots of the Hydrostream, doing tow duty, on the MHB site.:p
I couldn't find the towing picture. There's a few nice fly-by shots of the Stream though. Who do I have to thank for those cool shots?
