In the November 2006 issue of Hemmings Motor News there's an article about old Mercury outboards showing an old wood boat with a pair of 1959 model Mark 78A's. Scream and Fly is mentioned in the beginning of the article and it references a feature here on the evolution of the inline 6 Merc. The article also has several quotes from Sam Cullis (screen name: Mark 75 here) and he obviously had a good bit of input into it.
It's nice to see both Sam and Scream and Fly recognized in national publications. Sam's knowledge on old Mercs is unparalled, and he's been threatening to write a book on the subject as long as I've known him.
Now I guess we'd better dig up the "Evolution" article and bring it back to the top so anybody reading Hemmings can find it if they look here.
