IT WAS A REALLY BAD SET OF PLUGS THAT WERE ATTEMPTED TO BE CLEANED INSTEAD OF REPLACED BY ANOTHER DEALER. I've had bad plugs before, but never made one run like this did. Anyway, thanks for all of the input.

All right boys, I need some help. Hopefully, it's something simple and I'm just a big ole goofball, but this happened on my maiden voyage
<O:p
While running at any constant RPM, the motor either “surges” or “bogs” down. <O:p
I’m cruising across the lake holding the throttle steady. After about 30 seconds (estimated) or so, the engine “kicks in” and she’s off to the races. Then 30 later, she “bogs down.”
<O:p
The best way to describe it is like riding a 2-stroke motor cross bike. At the lower RMPS you’re just putting along, but when the throttle hits a certain RPM, all hell breaks loose and you got power coming out of your ears.
<O:p</O:p<O:p
It’s just like that with one exception, the throttle is being held in one constant position and the motor does its own thing. It does this no matter where you position the throttle. You can be running at 3000, 4000 or 5000 RPMs and it still does it.

What do you think?
<O:p
More info/symptoms:
<O:p
1)You can hear and definitely feel the difference, but the tach only fluctuates about 100 or 200 RPMS<O:p
2)The 30 seconds is just a guess. The time between burst seems to be erratic<O:p
3)If running and she’s “kick-in” at say 3500 RPMS and you mash the pedal to the floor, she bogs down more often than not, but not always.<O:p
4)I noticed this, my L/R exhaust and water pressure gauges, weren’t working<O:p
5)On two occasions, while idling the tach slowly crept up to about 4000 RPMS, however the engine remained at a constant idle. <O:p</O:p
6)I probably drove it about five to seven miles, then put her on the trailer.

Most likely a faulty map sensor or throttle position sensor, have someone check them with a ddt or cds computer.

sound's like you are in guardian, water pressure, temp or any one of the "failed sensors" will limit power. i have replaced many tpi sensor's on merc motors. hope you get it fixed... rick
