i recently bought a 3 blade chopper off ebay. its 14.5" diameter, and 24 pitch. will my 1500 spin this alright? the prop is sharpened, and has weed cutters if that matters

If it's a 14.5 probably not. It'll hit the cavitation plate. But... just because someone says it's a 14.5 don't mean it really is. Generally the smaller 13.5" props are pretty much the max diameter that an inline can pull effectively. :D

The chopper props of that dia. are made for V6 engines. They are heavier with thicker blades and more blade area. The real problem will be that the weed cutters are going to hit the case on your engine unless they have been ground back to clear the smaller dia. inline case.

The 14.5" diameter props are too much for an inline. The most you can swing is a 14" diameter. I ran many 14" choppers back in the day and had excellent results, various boats and setups. Try to find the small blade choppers, they work very well. Really depends on boat and setup and what you are looking to get for performance. Good luck!!!:)

i threw the prop on the driveshaft an spun it. if i dont put the steering tab it clears. i can fix the weedcutters problem with spacers. i figured this prop was for a v6 though.. just seemed soo huge. soo, can i have this prop worked down to a 13.5"? dont know if thats possible..
but if it isnt, then what prop would you guys sugguest. the engine's a 73' goin on a MX15. i want a chopper. what pitch/diameter would be best for over 65 mph?

You just need to beg, borrow of buy & try. CP has as good of advice as you will ever find when it comes to going fast with an inline.:D

All my props that I run on my inline are 14" in dia. I've never run smaller than that on my stock case myself but half my prop is out of the water. If you want to run a chopper look for the ones that say A4 at the end of the number. They were made to run on inlines.;)
