My inner seal disintegrated, and pushed itself and the outer seal out, pushing most of the bits between the inner and outer seals. The propshaft is tore up a little bit. There were bits of rubber, and small bits of the seal spring that were FLATTENED, in the oil behind the seals. The carrier bearing has been inhaling bits of the seal and spitting them out, possibly for several hours of running. The thrust bearing does not feel like it's destroyed. There's a tiny bit of side-play in the propshaft, to be expected for a 17 year old 200 case that's always been surfaced.

Kibbey, you need to buy that case off Mark & Tom from the 280, and sell that CLE to ME. Bring it over Friday night, you can stay the night over here. Only 5 miles from Wamplers. :D I cook good breakfast :D

so your boat is broken.theres no way i could buy that case this week,althogh i would love to own it.i would want around $1,500 for mine.it has all new gears,prop shaft and drive shaft are in great shape,and it was built by one of the best drive's man in the u.s of.a...i'll see about comeing down on friday.but most likely it would be saturday early.

US-12 or M-50 to M-124 aka Wamplers Lake Rd., it will take you to the launch. There's two entrances: Campground is on one side, and launch is on the other.

I started a new thread with a more eye-catching title, the best I can do to keep everyone happy is short-term notice, and only after someone else has already spilled the beans here. I would prefer to post it as a gathering weeks in advance, I don't see a problem with inviting some more outboards to come out and play, since quite a few of the MHB crowd are bigblocks.
