Not been charged yet, at least if he has it hasnt hit the media,
Rob,
as the news reports it (most of the time they miss it by a mile so draw your own conclusions) billy lane was in a head on collision when he allegedly tried to pass in a no passing zone, billy was fine, his pick up wasnt, and the guy he hit/hit him was on a motorcycle and killed.....they took blood samples and are waiting for the results, the media has already convicted him of drunk driving, but that remains to be seen.... it happened in melbourne, so a search of the papers there may give better information than my half cooked brain can furnish
Bill

Thats the one. He was in an accident Labor Day weekend. He was in his truck and tried to pass 2 cars on a double yellow and hit a man on a scooter head on killing the man instantly then the truck hit a pole and sent Billy and his passenger to the hospital.

As talented as Billy is he still is NOT above the law and is not immune to common sense. IF he was indeed drinking and driving and he indeed did pass on double yellows and tried to make a hood ornament of this poor guy on a moped, then Billy Lane is about to become a broke soul in jail. And if the above allegations ARE true, then I say he deserves whatever he gets. Billy has always struck me as being a bit to wild and careless, even among us bikers. I was nearly made a hood ornament by a drunk in a pickup during Sturgis last month. I was an instant away from taking the median (he was traveling west in our east bound lanes of I-90 in Sturgis, we were headed back too Rapid City) versus getting in his truck via the windshield. Assuming an accident DID happen and I lived, I'd made the guy hurt either by hand and/or through the courts. (But realistically the bum probably didn't have .02c too his name!)

Yeah I know alot of the crap guys like him do are only because they are on TV or the cameras are rolling. But Billy didn't seem to know when enough was enough and wanted to party a little to much at inapporpriate times. So you can bet that because he is a TV star, is a biker and is considered pretty much an outlaw in the publics eye (non-bikers) you can bet the prosecutors will be gunning for him with full loads!!!

I'll sit quietly by but based on preliminaries I'd say Billy is SOL,

Thats tragic,,,,

I loveed his styling for bikes. He seemd to lead the way in design as a lot of people followed his sleek look. But, It always seemed that his bikes had trouble running. He could never start them. I think even Indian Larry had to step in adn help him at one time.

I agree with everyone. If he is at fault then he needs to pay for his actions. I feel sorry for the victims families and I am sure they are going to see to it that he gets what he deserves.

He also has a pending DUI charge in Carolina. Doesn't look good for Billy boy.

That's really sad... It has always made My blood boil to see someone else suffer for anothers blatant stupidity and disregard... Those " wild and careless " types have never impressed Me whatsoever and never will... Someone doesn't have to be a so-called Outlaw or Rogue to be creative... Kelly Johnson ( quick example ) of Skunkworks could have wiped His Keester with all the " Outlaw " types put together while He had the stomach Flu, those are the type of People that I respect...The overgrown Children that I see so many of on TV are just disposable Punks in My book... When My dumb actions spill onto other People it's eats Me up pretty good with regret and makes me feel real useless... I think that too many People just live in too small of a bubble to prevent it or feel remorse afterwards... RIP Gerald Morelock

I agree it is sad. I too was never impressed with B. Lane. From his phony rasta wannabee dreadlocks, to his bikes than never seemed to run right, he always seemed like a flake to me. It is sad that he has once again let a fabulous oppertunity for a great life slipp away and it's even sadder that he took away someone else's life while doing it.:(

He's a poser, well he was. Now he's on his way to being somebody's bitch. If you'll remember, he never measured anything, he'd just "eyeball it" Apparently his calculations weren't as accurate as he thought. It's a shame there was the senseless loss of an innocent life in the process of bringing that to his attention.

And the bad part of it all, is the innocent person 90% of the time dies. SUCKS!! Well if he don't buy his way out of it he will be away for a while.
