I am going to get a new boat soon, I fish alot but am a ex drag racer so speed maters. Remember the first one to the hole gets all the bass!!I have read just about all the post on this board, and if I knew just half of what most of you guys know I would be very happy. I know most of you guys have the big bucks lol and have the fancy race boats and a bass boat but I will have to find one that will serve both sides. Any input would be welcomed also motor choices and set up tips

THANKS RAY

I HAVE OWNED 3 BULLETS AND 3 ALLISON BASS BOATS BUT NEVER A STROKER. THEY ARE VERY PRETTY BOATS AND THERE IS ONE RIGHT UP THE ROAD FROM ME FOR SALE. IT IS A 99 STROKER W/99 2.5 280 EFI, WITE WITH BLACK UP THE SIDES. IT IS ONE OF THE PRETIEST BOATS I HAVE EVER SEEN. 106 ON GPS SO I WAS TOLD. I DON'T KNOW. I HAVE ACCESS TO THE BOAT IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. I JUST BOUGHT A 91 20 VEE BULLET AND PLAN TO FISH AND RUN THE HELL OUT OF IT. IT WILL HAVE A HEAVILY MODIFIED 2.5 260 EFI AND WILL RUN OVER 100MPH. THEY ARE FUN AND MORE USER FRIENDLY TO FISH OUT OF THAN THE ALLISON. THE STROKER LOOKS LIKE A CADILAC. THANKS ERIC. IF I CAN HELP EMAIL ME. THANKS

Ray:
They are both great boats. The Stoker is actually a Shadow 20'
on a Bullet 20' pad vee bottom, with an updated interior.
Hey, if you're going to copy someone, copy someone GOOD!
I've owned Shadows (hot stuff 15 years ago) and switched to
Bullets.
Personally, I still like the convex deck styling and layout on the
Bullet. The 20 XD is (just MY opinion) the best fishing layout there
is on a SERIOUS bass boat.
The concave deck styling on the Stroker is a throwback to earlier
high perf boats like HydroStream and Shadow. The Stroker does
have some really neat interior features and styling.
I think you would be happy with either boat. Very little if any
difference (same running surface) in performance. Both are very fast. :D

Steve ;)

BillB;
Two completely different boats. Your boat is a v-bow mod VP
hull runabout. The Stroker is a v bottom bass boat.

I would stay away from the stroker. I used to have one until it sunk. Hit a wave and the top cap pulled away from the hull. I naturally stopped and water gushed in between the hull and the cap and she sunk like a rock. A month prior when I was picking the boat up from the factory I talked to Chub Bryant (Stroker Owner) and he was telling me how "You can fill them up with water and they'll still float". When I called and told him of what happened he told me that was to bad and the only thing they would do for me was sell me one that had a bad finish for $12,500. Some warrenty huh. Thank God for insurance!!

If you're looking at Bullet, don't consider the 21' boat. We've tried to help several people up here with 21's and 300 ProMaxes because they don't go as fast as the magazine said they did. Fully loaded, upper 80s is all they'll do.

I haven't run one with a 300X yet, but let's say low 90s....still WAY off the pace. Plus, I don't like driving them as much. They get goofy in side waves (like when you're going over wakes, etc at an angle - not predictable). Also, with the amount of setback you have to use, the splash over the back is INSANE. No wonder they use that big plastic thing to keep water from going in the gas tank/battery area.

The 20' boat is much better. However, from a space/performance ratio, I'd have to go with the Stroker. I've never owned one, but I have ridden in them and I like it.

I would wait a month or so until the new Allison comes out and I would definitely include that one in the mix. It's a more traditional bass boat (if you don't like the way the XB-2003 is laid out) and should be as fast or faster than the Stroker. Will be similarly sized as well - 21' and about 92-94 inches wide.

There'll be a ton of inventive ideas in it too from what I hear.

Sam:
You're right about the backwash on the Bullets. It's easy to get
rid of without adding their backsheild if you don't like it.
Just plate in the bottom of the jackplate with a ride plate and you're there.
A whale tale helps too. With both, I could let off the throttle while on plane and come to an idle without a drop of water over the
transom.

Steve;)

Stroker is probably one of the top 5 best built boats I've seen. Right up there with Triad. Chub is a hell of a nice guy & will be more than happy to go through any details or question you may have.

JRPROMAX - Not sure why you had problems with yours & would love to know more.

The little things they do on the Strokers really make them stand apart. Like the flip up Depth finder compartment, you won't see it on any other boats, & it really cleans up the front deck area. (especially when loading, not as much to trip over)

Speeds will be about the same - but currently the Stroker has more storage. & if your like me I never have enough space to put my tackle, much less rain gear etc.

Michael, happy to tell you anything you want to know. I really did like to boat and would of been in another one if Stroker would of stood behind it.

I ment no offence - Just curious to what year & why it may have happened. Had it been repaired once already, etc.
When it de-caped was it unrepairable?

Just never have heard of anyone having any bad experinces with the boats & have known Chub for 10+ years.

I WILL HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU. 95% OF ALL ALLISON BOATS POWER FOR POWER WILL BEAT A BULLET CAUSE A BULLET IS A TUB( WEIGHS AT LEAST 350 POUNDS MORE) BUT GET A LIGHTWEIGHT BULLET AND IT WILL RUN WITH AN ALLISON. I HAVE SEEN IT DONE. MY MECHANIC STEVE MANN RAN A BULLET IN TDBA IN THE 10 SEC CLASS. HOW MANY ALLISON XB2002 DO YOU SEE IN THAT CLASS? I HAVE OWNED BOTH AND MY ALLISONS WERE WAY FASTER AND QUICKER BY FAR BUT THE BULLETS WEIGHED WAY MORE THAN THEM. I JUST BOUGHT A 91 20 VEE (850#) BULLET AND WHEN I HANG MY MOTOR ON THE BACK I AM SURE IT WILL OUT RUN JUST ABOUT EVERY ALLISON AROUND HERE. I AM AN ALLISON MAN AT HEAT BUT I GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. THANKS ERIC.

AN ALLISON IS A RACE BOAT YOU CAN FISH OUT OF AND A BULLET IS A FISH BOAT YOU CAN RACE OUT OF. THANKS ERIC.

Yes , I have to argee with you Bullet does real well in the BIG OLE TUB class (1/4 mile with a ****load of weight) FAT pad non driver class. Too bad it's just not FAST in the REAL WORLD , Like everyday on Tennessee Lakes !! Scott :D

Yes I think it would have been repairable if I could have recovered it. What happened was, I hit a wave kind of flat if that make any sense. The kind you hit and it jars you except this time it didn't jam me, the cap bounced but the hull didn't. What I think is when someone make say 100 boats, all pretty much by hand, atleast 1 of those 100 is going to be a dud. And I got that 1 and Chub was/is to proud to admit it. Don't get me wrong, I think Chub is a desent enough guy and all, but everyone make mistakes its just how you live up to them. For instance, I make spinnerbaits and when I sit down and make 100 of them I can garentee 1 of them are going to be screwed up and I'll be the first to admit it and replace it. Hell, when Sony makes 100 VCRs 1 of 'em is probably going to be bad, its just the nature of manufacturing I think. But see the problem is he chose not to stand behind it, not to live up to his mistake.

I follow ya. Must have been some bad mojo following you that day. Not recovered.....if the water was less than 50 ft deep ya shouldn't have had a problem getting her back(unless it's a river)
Most divers will make that a day trip just for fun.

Send me some pict of your spinnerbaits too.

If a buyer is out there wanting an Allison or a Bullet call me. You can come to Maryville, Tn. where the fast boats are built and I will let you try a 20' Bullet with 260 power and an XB2002 with 260 power and let you make your own mind up. Both for sale and both extremely sharp. 865-984-1845 ask for Dave. Remember there are 117 mph Bullets and 129 mph Allisons all over the place but the water and side by side racing is the great equalizer! Money talks and BS walks!!
