Three Evinrude E-TEC teams take top-ten spots

Sturtevant, WI., September 13, 2006 – First, third and eighth place finishes were won with BRP's Evinrude (http://www.evinrude.com)® E-TEC® power at the Lafitte, Louisiana, FLW Redfish stop. Evinrude professional anglers Edward Adams and Ray Chagnard secured first place with a three-day total weight of 46 pounds, 14 ounces earning themselves $50,000, which includes $12,500 as part of the 2007 Evinrude saltwater contingency program.

Adams and Chagnard, both of Metairie, LA, made a long run from Lafitte to Venice, LA, and back with the fuel efficiency and reliability of their 250-hp Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine. "We were a little nervous in the storm on day three, especially traveling the long distance to get to the shallow pond we found in Venice. We're both totally impressed with the performance of our new E-TEC engine, especially on gas consumption," said Adams. Adams and Chagnard run a Ranger 2200 bay boat powered by a 250 horsepower Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine.

The team of Blair Wiggins and Tadd Vandemark led into the final day of the tournament, finishing in third place. Wiggins of Cocoa, FL, and Vandemark of Key Largo, FL, brought in two redfish at 13 pounds, 10 ounces to finish with a three-day total of 45 pounds, 14 ounces, worth $6,474. Team Evinrude members Ray VanHorn and C.A. Richardson rounded out Evinrude's presence in the top-ten with an eighth place finish and $3,250. Both team are powered by 250- hp Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines.
