Starting to rig my new boat

After being on this site for the best part of three years, thought I should post up some photos of the project I have been working on.

After having the boat nearly 15months I am getting round to rigging it, Boat is a 21ft Sonic, Kevlar/Glass Construction. These boats are mainly used for ski racing/offshore racing in New Zealand, but this one is for social use only (abit of overkill but thats alright)

Power is a pair of Merc 300PM, with 15in MADEFI Mids (hopefully they turn up this week!!) Fresh powerheads (with a few tweaks from Simon Motorsports) Rapair raised limiters, Fresh Sportmasters with Big Shafts, the list goes on...

Couple of shot's of the dash, All Autometer Marine, with GPS speedo, hopefully hang the motors in the next 10 days or so after I get the mids painted.

Thanks, most ski boat trailers in this part of the world are built like that, the main part is 250mm Channel section and then tapered at the front, fair bit of work but looks cool in person, wheels are 17in and trailer has stainless disc brakes and is fully decked in.

It is/was, I was going to sell to buy a Force F21 out of Aus, but there is a 9 month wait, so decided to finish this boat off instead. hopefully should have some motor pics in the next couple of weeks.

If I can get into triple digits Ill be real happy, I think Nic's with twin 225hp promax's ran just on 100, but was quite abit lighter.

Unfortunatly not yet, joys of living on the otherside of the world you have to wait for parts to turn up... the midsections are due in this week, thats really the only big holdup left.

Sonics are made here in the states.. never seen a black one though... it should really scream with a pair of 300pms. Good luck and post sum #s after you get that thing running!!!!!

There is a brand of sonics built in the US, but these are totally different just a quirk that they share the same name. Hopefully it should haul the mail with the 300's.

No racing just for playing around, might do a couple of poker runs in it, but that will be it.

I WORKED THERE FOR THE ORIGINAL OWNER JAY ROSS YEARS BACK........THE LITTLE SONIC THEY MAKE IS TOTALY DIFFERENT....REALLY ODD HULL, ONLY SAW A HANDFUL OF THEM FABRICATED......FAST BUT NOT POPULAR. I THINK WILDMAN TOOK ONE IN ON TRADE AWHILE BACK. UNFORTUNATELY THE SEXY SONIC IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD SUPAJA! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE..........THE PRICE IS RITE TOO!.......WONDER HOW MUCH THE SHIPPING WOULD BE?

Freight, you are looking around $4000US so budget on $22-23k landed/incl tax, they also build a 19ft version, which is a fair bit cheaper would probably be under $20k landed.

If you need anymore info let me know and I will try and put you in touch with the guy who built them.

Not yet, have been in the US/Canada for the last 7 weeks, mids are painted pick them up monday, and then got to wait on a couple of box load of parts to come out the states should be here in the next 10 days or so, then should be all go, will get it finished one day....

Getting there slowly, hung the MADEFI 15in 300X mids today, they look trick!! Had to put one gearbox on just to see what it would look like, powerheads are ready this week, so hopefully I'll give myself a early christmas present!!
