Did a father and son project rebuilding a 13' funcat. My son, 11, had asked that will be a smaller version of the boat I used to race. We took delivery on Memorial day and it hit the water yesterday, Labor day. It was a labor of love and our first real project together, he worked his butt off on this project. Here is the photo history of the project.
Many thanks to Fast Fred from this board for putting up with me as I changed motor specs through the entire project. I think he may need therapy  We finally got a Stinger on a 15" mid with integral 3 ram power trim and tilt.
Hopefully this link will work.

We're starting with a Ron Hill chopper but would really like to have Ron build a 5 blade cleaver to really make this mini-offshore boat complete.

Hey this boat has 2 steps, I want one.....maybe a winter project
Thanks for all the kind words, between work and racing really never had a chance to do a big project with my son. This was definitely a real bonding experience for us. There was a lot of advice to put in a foot pedal but I really wanted to set it up like an offshore boat, that way he can drive and I can throttle for him, hopefully keeping him out of trouble. Got home from work last night and there he was sitting in the drivers seat.
Here's the old race boat I drove, my son loved this boat.

Nice job.
Im sure your son will love it and it was nice to see you made him get his hands dirty. He will appreciate it more and the memories will last forever.
Mine will start this winter although Hailey is a little young for the air tools yet.

Looking at the boat and reading your posts makes me wonder who's boat it REALY is:D ;)
Cool little boat and amazing work you and your son have done.
I have been contemplating building a small cat for quite some time now, I may just do it this winter if I get half a chance. Two small cat threads have me thinking!
How does yours (your son's) run?
How wide and how deep is the tunnel?
What's it like in chop?
Sorry for the q's, thanks

Great job !!! Somthing to be proud of. I understand how you must feel racing across the water in it. I build my own boats and understand the work you and your son put in to it. Somthing that you both will always remember!!

Is this the same kind of boat???
First of all: Mr. Velocity, great job! Nice to see that cat getting all that love from you guys and it turned out fantastic!
Big Al: I recognice the boat you asked about, and its not the same. Don`t know what kind of boat Velocity has, but it`s shure not a GoCat like the one in the picture. Have one of those myself, doing 67 mph with a stock Yamaha 70ces with ordinary yamaha 70 head. The GoCat is a Norwegian boat that has gone out of production, but some Sweedish guys have boat the molds and made a new and better boat using the Gocat as a platform to build from.
There has been some discussion about the Gocat/Kar-marine Rc 4,3 on this thread, but I guess thats where you found youre picture??:

Here is the page for the sweeds making the new version, though in swedish: www.KAR-Marine.com
