I tried one and it was wrong for my SS2000. Actually it was good once on a plane. I've seen a one on a Tuff 21 that will go 100.
What was different? 150 HP and a lot of boat weight. The more powerful and heavier boat worked with the Trophy. You see a lot of Trophy's on bass boats, which are relatively heavy, compared to an STV or an Allison.
Most people use the small hub Trophy with the large gearcase. I have a small hub engine so I think that's why the small hub didn't work for me.
What sort of boat do you have?

My buddy has one on a big bassboat, and it is awesome. If you carry weight in your boat, they work well, and you can jack them pretty high too.

...and pick the one you're rig likes. I've got both a 21 small hub Trophy and a 21 Tempest in my prop box. The Tempest is Boger 'worked and runs about 1 mph faster than my Trophy 'worked by Mark's props. But, the Trophy runs a lot smoother and has a better holeshot than the Tempest, even with all the PVS plugs taken out of the Tempest. At high engines heights the Tempest hooks up a little better at speeds over 50 mph in a crosswind. Most of the time I end up running the Trophy.

19 with a 200 merc here. fastest prop and great accelleration with a 26 plus. i have tried lots of props and the trophy works great for me. 80 plus, run propshaft 1 in. below center sponson, and it still responds to trim and somehow does not loose its bite. rooster tail goes away at around 35-40 mph. ;)

It carries the weight (about 2400 lbs) of my 22' openbow modified tunnel, but boggs the take-off. If I drilled the holes larger, it would spin-up better. For me, the 3 blade Raker 24 gave better top-end and all around performance. Now I'm dropping in pitch to take advantage of port work.
4 blades are slower than 3, at least in theory.

My 27 Trophy ran 95.9 on my Quartershot, with a 200 Merc. @ 7200-7300
Mid RPM's is where it shines......86.2 MPH @ 6000 with the propshaft 1" above the pad.
83.3 even with the pad. @ 6000

Looking for a recommendation. I want to carry passengers and still see good top end. Ski-sport prop so to speak. Which prop should I buy? Trophy, tempest? Big barrel Hub or small? What is the difference?
Tired of spending my kids retirement money on wheels.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!:D

Alot of people here seem to cut the Trophy down, (not a REAL performance prop), but the Trophy has made BOTH of my boats handle better.
