merc v6 head swap interchange

hi.

first post. been reading for some time though....

i have a 2.5L 200hp 1993. i also have some 1990 2.0L 150's as spares.

what would happen if i put the 2.0L heads on the 2.5L motor? are they smaller CC's ? would i gain anything? would i need to change anything?

i have no problems whatso ever now. ive replaced my 40 amp stator and flywheel with that of a 16 amp stator and flywheel, removing one of the voltage regs. runs great. i also removed all oil injection components and ign advancer module. just trying to squeeze whatever i can outa this girl with what i have laying around.

i run nothing but 100% synthetic oil in the top and bottom of her.(premixing and in the gear case)

dont swap your 2.5 heads for the 2.0 heads , they wont fit, and it would be certain disaster. If you want to tighten up the heads, either have yours cut or buy a different set of 2.5 heads. The domes cumbustion chambers on the 2.0 heads are much smaller, and i really dont think the bolt pattern is the same.
