Hi I would like to thank some of the guys and their gals of the Clayton Race boat Regatta for staying with us and for the great time we had with them. They are good friends and like family to us.
Skip Gillam [JS] Skipper where's the commission from the J.S. I sold for you?,
Jim Hassfeld [JS] Jim mixes a h*ll of a VTO!,
Bobby Walwork Bobby makes one nice Raveau [Raveau],
Gene Flemming [SK] I need a ride next year,
and a couple of new comers' that were a lot of fun
Bill Harris [Raveau] See you Sept 23rd with that Blown Avanti?,
John Sherlock [280] Hope John liked the dark beer?
and we were graced with William Steinfield [280]
It can't get no better than this?

It looked to me like there were more boats than ever in the outboard and inboard pits. I haven't heard the attendance figures yet. We have had 2 Poker runs in the 1000 Islands this summer and they were well attended. Oh Boy Olberto was even here.
I don't think the price of gas has hurt the shows or events.

I was looking through some of those boats, and the Miss Detroit lll caught my eye. The "very rare and unique" V12 engine was pretty interesting. Actually a pair of chevy V6's siamesed and with a set of fancy valve covers resembling old bolt on cylinders. Very imaginative!!.
