I HAVE A 1978. 175 EVENRUDE V-6.IT RUNS A LITTLE RUFF. ENEY HELP ON PROPS & FUEL MIXTURES. IT ON A 78, 19FT.MARQUIS FISH & SKI.I WANT MORE POWER:cool:

Welcome, FYI everyone that has anything to do with this forum wants more power. IM pretty sure that someone may be able to help if you give more information. Things like speed/ RPM/prop type / how high is your motor mounted/ do you have a hydra jack plate/ . General run would be to get your boat set up before looking for speed by making more HP. Make your boat as light as possible ,move as much weight towards the rear as you can,A set up for top end often sacrifices holeshot ,may cause porpoising at low and intermediate speeds and can degrade rough water ride. Make sure that you have a good prop that has your RPM at the Max. Check your performance number on a prop chart and see if your around 10 % slip. Check your speed witha GPS / RPM/ lower unit ratio/ Prop pitch. Hope this helps Joe R
