Do any of you guys out there have experience with setting up a center steer Bullet bass boat? Setback, prop, special tricks that made it run better? Saw one run at the ODBA drag races and was very impressed. How do Bullet bass boats ride?(rough water)? Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Have you logged on to the Bullet Boats web page? There are all types of technical info for you there. Also, call Paul at the Bullet factory. He runs a center console.
I have a 1997 20'Bullet with a Pro Max 225. When I picked this boat up from the dealer it would run 82MPH. That was with a 26" Trophy prop and 10" of set back. I added a 2" spacer from Bobs Machine and picked up to 84-85mph. I then pulled the can from the mid section, drilled 10 5/8" holes in the lower mid section like the 2.5 hi-perf model. This gave me a few more RPMs on top end hitting the rev limiters at 6750. I played with a few props...32" Mazco 3 blade, talked to Paul at Bullet and he sent me a 31" 4 blade Spinelli. I then ordered another jack plate (hyd.)to raise the motor up and down then ordered another to mount that one on to give me a total of 15" back. This gives the prop good clean water ...less prop slip and better bow lift. I then had the heads cut from 37cc to 35 cc. Installed an aluminum hi-perf flywheel. This allowed me to spin up a little faster. I am currently running this 31" 4 blade Spinelli 94-95mph at 6400-6500 Rpm.
SET BACK IS CRITICAL ON THE BULLET. THE FACTORY IS RUNNING 14". BUT THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT THEY HAVE GONE TO 16"IN TEST.
