Choppers give bow lift. And have a bad holeshot.

Work Best On Light To Med Weight Hulls With Motor Raised To Allow A Surfacing Attitude With The Prop, They Dont Like To Be Burried Deep Ie: Stock Engine Heights. What Hull And Engine We Talkin About?
A little bit of extra cupping in the tips and trailing edges helps holeshot a lot, a bit of leading edge roll near the hub helps holeshot additionally. All these various mods will slow it down on most setups unless you have some blade area removed to cut down on drag. Speaking of "drag", it's nice and cheap to buy a big-ear and have it cut down to an ET copy. :D

I have a 90' stratos 289fs with a 200 evinrude xp, i just put on a 12 inch manual jackplate. The motor being re-ringed and the heads shaved as we speak, the prop i was running before i sent the motor out was a four blade 25 pitch, was running 63 mph

Will a chopper prop be too much for this boat?

That stratos is a bit to heavy to run a chopper & you probably can't run it high enough anyway. My guess you got a torquemaster case.
But what da hell give it a try, all that could happen is losin a propshaft tryin ta get ya heavy hull ta get on plane ;-)

use a raker, tempest, or any over/thru hub 4 blade....do not run an over hub on a bass boat...

Gotta love an allison! Is that really a 150 or u messing with us slow "bass boats"? By the way the prop on the stratos is 13 1/4. Does that help or hurt it?

This helps it turn those over hub props a lil easier

And yeah it's a 150 and the nordskog GPS speedo has seen slightly over 90 once. Course all the moon & stars were lined up just right I guess. Slight chop for a lil air under the hull, balanced just right, right prop & I had just enuff balls that day
