View Full Version : REAL S&F pontoon, not a one-off?
Check out the videos! This looks like the real deal performance pontoon boat. Gotta be wierd sitting up 6' out of the water and throw one of these babies into a turn. 27" center pontoon, 23" outers, turns like a Progeression :D

Unless that thing is priced into outerspace, it oughta sell life crazy... I'd like to have one, except with a 300 or something..
Looks like a loaded one with a 225 or 250 is about $36k, about the same as a deck boat or bow-rider 21' Checkmate Pulsare. Seems like $36k is a typical price point for new boats with that size outboard....................

The factory only rates them for a 175 according to the specs.

Whoa! I figured to hit 51+ mph they'd have to be running the 225. I wonder what motor they had mounted up. 175 to hit 51? If that's correct, that's a pretty efficient hull design for a tooner................

With twins its still slower then the Manitou... and I would say uses more fuel too. That Manitou looks like a fun ride, if I was to get one I would have say it would probably come from them. Damn thing is skiing certified!

PlayCraft Sets New World Pontoon Speed Record
A chapter in the boating history book was rewritten on February 4, 2003 at Lake X, St. Cloud, Florida. Jim Dorris, owner of PlayCraft Boats, set the official pontoon speed record at 81.0 MPH in a PlayCraft Pontoon Boat. “You have to have a sturdy boat to feel confident at those speeds. This boat has the same construction features found on the boats that come off our production line,” Dorris said.
The record-breaking speed was reached with a Mercury Twin Pro Max 300X Outboard motors. The weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 69 degrees and a slight wind. “We’ve been bragging about having the fastest production pontoon boat on the water,” Dorris said. “And now we’ve proven it.” Jim Dorris has also held the Pontoon Speed Record on Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri at the Annual Shooter’s Shootout. “If you really want to test the character of a boat, run it on Lake of the Ozarks, one of the roughest lakes in the country next to Lake Havasu,” says Dorris. Jim holds the Shootout record at 75 MPH.

hehe... fun to ride, untill your friends catch ya doing it!!
It's more impressive to be going fast in a boat that's not supposed to go fast, than to go fast in a boat that looks fast......:D
