I was just up in Naples ME and man did a skater get stomped HARD by a V-bottom. That must have hurt. Especially since the guy was the one that instigated the race!!!  :D :D Hey if you do not know how fast the other guys boat is you better watch out:p :p THATS HOW WE ROLL!!!

Ya Steve it is me. You should have heard the drunken armchair racin that was going on   :D :D You know how it gets up there. Probably the worste thing that could have happened was for Dave to put Internet into his house!!! My guess is the skater is a 94 MPH boat based on what my buddies does with the same set up and Pauls boat from what Kurt said is going a little over 100 but they are still testing props and such. Still FAR from the fastest guy on the lake. That would go to one of the cats I am guessing at Timmies place? Maybe Spine Tickler?

Ya but he's probably the fastest up at our end. I heard Roy Moore in his DCB was still playing with prop setup at 135mph:eek: , any truth to that??

Yup something like that. I think that he is waiting for a shorter drive or something like that. Not bad for a drive with the dredded tranny
I was watching the boat run on the Thunder Run at the poker run two weekends ago and the thing rides SO NICE.

I think the old addage that "put enough horsepower to a brick and it will fly too" holds true.
I have been smoked by a vee hull before. We were out in the sound running over 90 mph and Bob Russell in his 39 Outerlimiits GTX passed us like we were standing still. I think he has over 3000 hp and 500 grand in that thing.

The Cig is FAR from 3000hp If I was guessing I would say 1600hp. It is a heavy boat with a bunch of people and aprox 1200 pounds in fuel. So you would think that the power to weight ratio on the skater would have him (the Skater) going faster. After all Cats are so much more efficeint or so we have been told.....

Not sure if they were 1500 hp ea, but they sure looked like it. That thing ran well over 150 mph. Ever seen a water cool dry stack exhaust with engine hatch exits?

Jeez Jon, leave these eggbeater boys alone, and go finish your own resin bucket. I've been on Oso for five years, and to my knowledge, the only time that boat has been floated is when you swapped trailers.:p
Just for clarification, this picture is dated 3-07-04.

First behind, then a niche ahead, then behind again, but you had nice graphics (ss minnow?) from what I could see just behind me though my spray.
It was a long wait for you though, as we were cruising at 50, waiting...........
7400 rpms, 30 pitch, 187 ratio, 8% slip, you do the math....
Looking forward to meeting up again some time, I'll be driving this time!:D

All in good fun!;)

First Behind just cuz he was not interested in running with you (new boat to him) then ahead cuz he had enough of your pointing and wanting to race. Then behind cuz he felt uncomfortable so he backed off then ahead. So I guess if you think your boat goes 103 then that Cig must run about 110 :D:D

That must be you CUDA. What the matter Cuda taken on this site? You must have registered yesterday to only have 270 posts :p :p I got a boat to run like you do. You want to compare boat projects? So how is that 242 going that you started before clocks were invented

I'm an outboard fan too.I"ve had 3 hydrostreams and miss them all.I had a ride in Steve's cat a few weeks back and loved it.But I was in the cig that day and know 1st hand how things went down.Big deal, you got beat by another boat.We all have at one time or another. We get handed our ass and wash it down with a cold beer. That's how we roll. The guy with the cig is one of the nicest people you'd ever meet.We keep things simple up here,we all get along. It doesn't matter what you float in as long as you float.Don't come to our lake and cause waves just because you got beat, and yes,you did get beat. Not that anyone cares.Thank all of you for visiting and showing your stuff. It's all good.Be nice, but most of all,be honest.

Jon,your Donzi is the balls, who cares what people say about your project boat.Apparently they haven't seen the beautiful river front home you've been busy with for the past 2 or 3 years. It's sure to be one of the nicest homes in the area.Keep up the good work.

Cudoo's to you for respecting your boat!!!!! It takes a good man to relize that every boat must be learned by seat time. The Skater is new to me this year, I have about 40/50 hours on it and learn something everytime out. Yes my best #'s are a 103 @ 7400 on 30 labs motors are 220, 1987 XRI's that haven't been opened since 87 but have been switched to carbs. I look forward to meeting/running with you again soon you have a beautiful place to boat.
But I still can't figure out what your doing with the extra 1200 HP???

FYI,the owner of the cig has no idea we're running threads. He's a super good guy and could care less about racing anyone. He's a normal guy that likes to go fast across the water.Anyone is welcome when it comes to him.Steve will certainly back me on that.

Good stuff, that's one sweet Skater and only the second one I've ever seen up here. You'll have to come back sometime and meet my neighbor, the guy with the Sutphen. He's got it bad for outboards. I'm a big block Chevy guy!:D It's all good!

I know the other half wants to go back as much as I do so I'm sure it won't be long before where back for a couple days, It's only a 3 hour drive so next time it will be a haul over friday home sunday thing for us!!

Nope I was not even there. Just there for the aftermath arm chair racing that night over a 100 Budwisers :D :D This whole thing was just some good natured ribbing while some real fast boats got it on going down the lake. Both your boats will SMOKE my Donzi. My Donzi does some wild things that no other boat that I have ever ridden in can do but go super fast is not one of them. Tops out at like 64 MPH but can be trimmed up a bit and lift clear out of the water on a flat calm lake and go like that for a while. Big Blocks are fun like that :D
Say hi next time down on the river we are all a bunch of gear heads
Garry thanks for the compliments and one of these days I hope to get my boat back in the water again. How is the drumset purchase coming along?

You know it is, and it was a F 20 SC. It was tough because I started the project before the invention of electricity.:)
I just recently sold it to a kid that may live long enough to finish it. You might want to consider the same thing!:D
How's the 18 treating you?

18 is great. Hope to put a new trim pump into it this weekend and use it some. Like Garry said I need to keep humping on the house to get the roof on before stuff gets ruined.

Gary's absolutly correct, one of the nicest guy's around. He's not "Ricky Racer" just wants to go fast and have some fun. He'll have to bring out the Glastron next time.;)
I look forward to having everyone back and get together for some good natured my boats better than your boat banter.:D
