Okay,

Been delaying the inevitable, but here goes

August 12/13th Schroon Lake, NY

Scaroon Manor, Day use area

Looking to see what interest we have here......I will be up the lake from the 11th. Had MAJOR problems with rentals AND throwing a party, and can't use my parents beach because the East Shore Association is trying to impose a speed limit...

Looking to get a Day Use pass for Scaroon Manor which will allow us the use of the beach we were at last time;)

NOW they have bathrooms, picnic tables and showers for all to use:D :D

I believe the following are going to attend

Dutch
Liqui-Fly
Tom D
Gary S
Dirty Bert
Steve
Mac the Knife
The Mayor
Steve O

I will be posting directions and my phone number for those interested...

1. There is a no wake limit from the Horicon Boat Ramp to Sand Point, so you will have to idle out 'til that point
2. The East Shore from Sand Point to Adirondack, is an off limits "No Fly Zone" WE don't want to piss of those attempting to impose a speed limit.
3. Fly By's WILL BE permitted along the shores of Scaroon Manor due to the fact it is vacant land.
4. We want to demonstrate to others, that we are a civil lot:cool: :D

I will be staying for one week at Eagle Point Campground 12-19 and one week at my parents beach 20/27.

I have reserved three sites which will hold 18 people for anyone else interested from the 12-19th.

They have full facilities and will let you moor a boat:cool:

They also have a VERY nice beach

Those interested in looking at site, there are a FEW left and can be reserved thru ReserveAmerica.com

Saw Steve roaming around yesterday. Made a u-turn in front of Eagle Point and headed back to the north end. I went after him and ended up loosing my trim so I had to head back. The guy who has Jim Thompsons old Action was pulling into Eagle Point to camp so maybe he'll be around for the show. He's got that Action looking real good. If all is a go I guess I'll have to head back up there....again. My ass is still sore from the ride home today

Rick - in case you did not know, your Eagle Point pass is also valid at the Monor also. The weekend night ranger at E.Point has been a pain in the ass at times enforcing the 10pm quiet time and he also has a 15 yr old looking kid with him who yelled at me for using a generator even though he did'nt know what it was. Hopefully the guys will keep thier cool on the lake. Last Thursday night around midnight there were two guys in open exhaust I/O's racing along East shore for about and hour. Bad place bad time. They were loud as hell.
Any word on showups yet. Would be nice to see a good group of people.
Got my brother showing up also with his Stream.

Spoke w/ Mac today,

Mac the Knife has been working VERY hard to make sure Joe Koch is not successful in his bid to get the speed limit. I, for one, greatly appreciate his efforts and his concern for this event. I am throwing this party to establish that we are a ruly, family oriented lot and NOT a source of problems on the lake. I intend to enforce the following rules for attendance;

1. We will be passing a petition for all to sign which is against the speed limit.
2. ALL boaters will observe the NO WAKE ZONE from the Horicon Boat Ramp to Sand Point (bouys and island are the end marker)
3. NO FLYBYS are permitted AT ANY TIME along the EAST SHORE from Adirondack to Sand Point
4. We are requesting that no high speed passes be made along the shorelines where there are residences.
5. Scaroon Manor (Taylors Point) has no housing in either direction for 1/2 mile and makes for a GREAT viewing point for fly-bys at the widest portion of the lake and will minimize us offending those that are looking to stifle our freedoms
6. ANYONE who fails to observe these rules will be run down and mugged:eek:  ;)
7. I will be the blue, gray STV with the turret mounted shotgun;) :D

If we work to a common goal, we will be able to enjoy this outing yearly, if we mess this up, there will be hell to pay and we will be responsible for our own demise:cool:

In final

IF YA CAN'T ADHERE TO THE RULES, DON'T COME:cool:

Allison is not ready, neither is HydroStream (just bought one of my old 'Streams back after a high school buddy owned it for 13 years). Allison needs to be re-rigged (from side to center steer & Ride Guide to pulley-cable) and motor rewired, then remounted, and finally test run. Not enough time. HydroStream needs pulley-cable steering restrung with new cable (it's 17 years old) and pulley sheaves, new steering wheel trim re-rigged, then other little stuff (new battery, box, carbs rebuilt, water pump, etc.). It hasn't been run in years and it shows.

I will try to have both boats at the CT River run--they are both really nice and great "vintage/classic" examples. I will try to post photos of both in a few.

JT- any chance you will still make it this weekend...I'm sure Mac could use a co-pilot ?? . I was talking to the guy who bought Jim T's yellow Action this past weekend and he said he hasn't talked to him for awhile. Any news on his new Action. Has it touched water yet ??

don't think I'd be riding with Mac anytime soon...hehe...

Jim's Action has already been to a few races, he's still sorting it out but it runs very well for a new rig...he's racing this weekend in PA so won't make it to Schroon. I have to choose to either go with him or go to an AOMC meet in Schenectady, so I won't be at Schroon either...have a great time tho...

= Antique Outboard Motor Club. There's a dry meet at the Mabee Farm, don't know exactly where that is but its right off 890 I think. It's hosted by the Mohawk Chapter. I have a 12' 1956 Chris-Craft kit boat with 1951 25-hp Evinrude I would like to sell, and so may display it there.

Allison won't be ready for Clayton. I will probably go for a day without a boat. I love that meet.

What a great get together. A big Thank You to Rick and especially Denise for taking care of all of us hungry souls. She spent countless time running around like a mad woman for all of us and the food was excellent. I'm sure she slept well that night. I'm sure when everyone took to the water it must have been like an airshow for everybody to watch. Rick was putting in one fly-by after another at well over 100mph..man that STV cooks.
I was especially impressed with Tom D's Hydrostream. What a nice looking boat and he got that thing flying on every pass. It looked real good to watch him sticking with the STV's, and that water wasn't exactly calm. His son does a hell of a job driving it to...and his t-shirt gave us all a good laugh.

Pete or Jim,
Thanks for the kind words about my boat. It needs some work. Sticking with the STV's I don't know. They all had way more HP than my stock old fishin motor. There was smooth water out there I just couldn't find it.:( It was a real fun day though. I was hopin you guys would have come out for some passes though. I really wantrd to see how good that Valero V bottom ran against my YT. Now that would be cool.

Tom, my brother was out there with you guys in his Valero. I don't know how you didn't cross paths. I think the two of you would have put on a damn good show. I'm also curious to see how he would run against your YT, although he is 25hp down on you. Your boat also seems to run the rougher water alot better. I'm sure there will be a next time...he's addicted now.
