future 2.5 DFI motors

I heard that Mercury is doing away with the 200XS. If this is the case there are no other Mercury Racing 2.5 motors light enough to go on the light sport boats like Allisons, STV's and others. Also I wonder what the future of drag boat racing is without a motor that is still in production like the 280 or drag. Can anyone shed any light on this. My next boat purchase depends on a bright future in this arena.

you have to look at it like this: they will be alot of 2.5 blocks out there for at least another 10 years maybe more. there are still a few 2.4 blocks out there. now, just how long will they make parts for them is another question.
