View Full Version : removin bad sleeve...whats the best way?

whats the best, easiest way to get an old sleeve out?

while we are at it....whats the best way to get a new sleeve in?

also....is there anything else that i can do (without breaking the bank) to get me more horses since ive got it torn to bits already?

I groove them (carefully) with a carbide burr where there's a long intake port so you don't have to worry about hitting the block as much. Once you groove down evenly the full length of the sleeve it will start to buckle in.
It will usually just pull out after that. Sometimes you have to tap it out from the crank side with a brass punch.

have a machine shop bore it out. the less you heat the block the better!!!!!
