question on splines on the bottom of an merc 2.4 crank are they replacabile or not help!

On S+F there was a post on cutting the crank splines out of a junk L6 crank and welding them in a V6 crank. Sounded like a do-able job for a good machinest. Easyer to find a good crank.:)

yes they are replaceable. you bye a new crank and this replaces them. don't ever mess with this stuff because your life depends on it. just remember this if you break down in a car you can walk to the neares gas stashon if you brek dwn in a boat or a plain its not that ez to walk.
