I've always enlarged the pee hole slightly in the barb fitting on my outboard jet motors as the factory size hole always seems to get blocked easier by a small piece of wood or foreign object.
Is this OK to do and won't hurt engine cooling? I ran my old Evinrude without the barb end for many years with no ill effect.
