Just don't forget to add the weight of the lower unit which Mercury does not include in their published weights.

Thanks alot guys. So i guess they weight around 480lb. (+-) . I really wanted to know because i have a 24' Performer that am bolting up twin 225's . The max is twin 200's but yamahas, evinrudes are heavier than twin 225 mercs.

i dont understand why people have told me twin merc 225's is too much weight??? I dont think theres much of a difference between twin 200's and 225's. Plus 225 mercs are lighter than 200 yamahas.

Do you guys think i will have a weight problem?

That might be with Race motor, but I would think.......... That mercs wheight would be with a lower unit on stock fissing motors. Or Merc would be lie ing to the public. 2 motors on a 24 foot should be ok, just as long as it's not real narrow. 24 foot superboats are 6 foot beam-I think 3.0 motors would be a bit much. But I bet some one has them on one. You could look for some NEWER Merc covers, they are lighter.;) If you like noise you could cut the bottom of your Tunnas and let the H2O mix before it gets out of the exhaust housing. That will make the motors carry less H2o and the prop carrier will not burn up, which was a problem on early 3.0s. I have also seen them have problems with a crack in the exhaust plate, the newer ones have better cooling in that area. :) Hope this helps.

My 24' Performer is 8.4' wide. So that makes it ok to have twin 225's i guess:D :D :D

Thanks!
