can someone please help with cleaver prop questions, I own a flats boat and fish very shallow water for tarpon, sometimes in a foot of water and some time the tide gose very low on me and need too get out of that shallow water i own a 17.6 action craft with a 150 Optimax/ sportmaster gearcase usually run a 4 blade trophy lookin for a better hole shot and better top speed will the cleaver props help or they for high horsepower motors, boat weights about 1500 pound with two people and gear please help will the clevers work and maybe what style pitch thanks Jorge

Cleavers are usualy for light boats and top end not hole shot,trophy(small hub) is a very good all around prop for your type of boat.If you want more top you can try Tempest but probably hurt hole shot.:cool:

Cleaver on a flatbote. mmmm, don't thank that would be a good combo...the cleaver iz a stern lifting prop, and not a load carring prop...It iz designed to run on the top of the water(which would be good for U) but haz very little bow lift...a flatbote wit a cleaver would be interesting...if U try it, pleeze keep us posted on how it works...REX:cool:

We tried some cleavers years ago on some Hewes on the Featherbeds. They didn't work. Not enough blade area. Also we did run aground once in the sand and severely bent the blades. Not enough beef to them. We did have some luck with some older choppers but I believe you would be best with the Trophy.

hey guys thanks for all the help on cleavers looks like i'll stay with 4 blade trophy I guess 65 MPH is fast enough when your running skinny H2O
