Has anybody come up with a good way to hold up the rear seat hatch on the euro? I tried nitrogen filled cylinder good up to 120 lbs. and it didn't hold it up. the problem with the cylinder is that the hatch fills to light when it's down and I'm worried about it flying up when the boat is in motion. I just wanted something to hold the hatch up because I was going to use it for storage and dont want to carry a broom handle with me.

Mike,

You need what is commonly known as a "click/ click' arm.

Open the hatch, the arm clicks to support your hatch, then push up and the arm clicks to disengage. I also think you can get a key to lock it open so the wind does not disengage it for you.

Thanks Anthony, I know the type of arm you are talking about. I never thought of that!!! that is what makes the board great...

Thanks,

Now Mr. HydroVector!

You don't need a broomstick unless you are fixing to fish for Muskies at my place. But, you do need a paddle. I just take my paddle and pop it between the floor and the recess area of the deck where the cup holders are top side. Pretty sturdy and no extra messing around. Also, the real trouble on lifting the deck is that the pin-in-the-hinge assembly (pain-in-the a$$ assembly) likes to seperate and then you need two people to get everything back together again. Even a servo motor with closed loop feed back won't change that problem. I am going to fix that problem first.

Next, I would be much more worried about adding gas to the tank when you use a can to fill at dockside. The aft filler cap method is a bunch of scratches waiting to happen. I am going to get a second filler installed under the hatch directly into the tank after all my troubles last year. Just my two cents on the subject from a year with the STV. I still love that boat despite it's flaws. Just like my second wife! HAHA-hehe--OOh-oh, she's coming!

Gotta close quick.

Well I could use the paddle but that would really be kind of schmuckish!!!! (ask balzy). I'm not worried about adding gas, 28 gallions with my little 200 0n the back should get me by all day long. I hope to find out soon how I like the boat too!! But we already remamed it "New Harley"

...I was thinking that those pins look skimpish... They should have longer pins...I have some here that you guys should try...They are aluminum with 2" inck long SST pins...I am putiing some on my PCS hatch!!!

Also ...I question the gas fill location too...let us know how the relocation works Nick!!!

real simple, just replace 1 screw on the hinge attached to the hatch with a longer one. Hook a bungee cord to it stretched across to the other side by the other hinge. Connect the other end of the bungee to a hole in the track that the hatch rests on close to the other hinge. the bungee will keep the hatch from sliding over to the side when you lift the hatch. works real good and is hardy noticeable
