Hello ! I just read an article in HOT BOAT and it suggest to use 150 heads of the same year motor instead of cutting the 2.4 200 heads. What do you think about that?Just want some opinion before taking my decision:confused:

The 2.0 150hp heads have smaller combustion chanbers and will increase ya compression...try to find sum "Hemi" style heads...the seem to work better...REX

When you say 'Hemi Head' are you talking about a chamber like the old 2 piece heads came with? The old true round dome? Are there any 1 piece heads with these same chambers? I really like the way those old heads worked but I have not found a 1 piece head with the same chamber. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Yes they have 1 piece hemi style heads...they cum on 2.0's, but I would be lying to say which ones...The 2.0 tophats have smaller chambers than the 2.4 or 2.5's...I put a set of 2 piece hemi heads(16cc) on a 150 2.5...235# compression, and it kicked ass...Now I know that these heads are narrower than the 2.5's, but the motor didn't deem to care...and it didn't leak water or blow a gasket...JMR112, use the 2.4 head gaskets...make dam sho they are 2.4's, a 2.0 gasket will be the demise of a good 2.4 or 2.5 motor...REX:cool:

I dunno tha cc's...I had a list of cc's that I had dun a couple years ago, but I can't find it...I do know that uesing them with the thick headgaskets(std ones) and running 92 octain, will not be too much compression for safe operation...REX:cool:

...had a Merc 'Master Mechanic' make that mistake on my 84 200. She ran real good for about 5 minutes, then she was so quiet that I could hear the 15 horse Johnrude that pulled me back to the ramp.

It ain't orange though!

JMR112. I'm curious what you end up doing with those heads. Especially if you end up getting the work done around here. My 1750 2.0 has the 2 piece "hemi" style heads I think?

Hey what ya think of this FUC***SHI* (snow) falling again  i think i will breake a rod if it continuous, screamin to hard:D

For the heads, i want to put these on my 2.4 200,i read it in this mounth Hot Boat at page 18, and find some from a good buddy that you have to no Normand Daneau from Daneau Marine not a race man but real OK guy whit alot of experiment 1 450 372 3066 it's at St Alphonse de Granby.

Hey Glenn do you go to the Richelieu river some times, i heard ther's alot of cool boats there and want to go next saeson.

REX i would have 2or3 pair of 150 head during the week i'll try to take some picts and measure, than come back.

Think i have to stay over 34 cc to run pump gaz even whit these heads.
