s3000/F1 block technical details

I would like to find some technical details of a Merc 2.5 litre block, does anyone know of a site that has good photos of a block or even tech. drawings? measurements etc....the reson why is that I build model engines(working) and want to to do a Merc s3000/F1 motor

Would you cast the block?

There are quite a few port maps floating around on this site, use the search feature at the top of this page and enter what your looking for.
There's also a few reputable engine builders about too that I'm sure can help you with what your looking for, when they get some time!

There are plenty of pictures of 2.5 litre blocks too in the outboard for sale section, externally these engines look the same, if you contact an owner maybe they could help you out.

I'd help you out but I'm not fortunate enough to own one:p

Sounds like a good project, would love to hear how it goes and see some pics too!

I'm sure mercury would give you the spec on the s3000 if you asked for it, as far as bore, stroke, etc...
