Not women, but flywheels, much more interesting IMHO.
To remove a merc flywheel, do I need to use the proper merc tool that threads into the centre of the flywheel and costs a fortune, or can I use a conventional automotive type flywheel puller that engages in the ring of bolts near the centre of the flywheel (Not the ones at the edge).
Thanks
Matt

I have used a regular automotive balancer puller to pull Merc Flywheels before, but it's a pain. Unless this is just a one time thing, I would go ahead and get the puller. There are some aftermarket ones are around, and some double as a lifting ring. Jay Smith Racing has a nice one he sells at http://www.jaysmithracing.com If it's too pricey for you, I can get you one that isn't as upscale for about 40.00

Go ahead and get the Lifting Eye/Flywheel Puller combination from Jay Smith Racing. I have one and it's pretty slick. Just used it to pull the powerheads and flywheels on two Merc V-6 engines. Works like a champ.
