Does anyone have a suggestion for a small light weight high power outboard? You see, I restored an old '71 MX-15 and I am not having much luck selling it, I am kicking around the idea of selling the big omc V-4 140 just to get some cash and keeping the little boat for a rainy day. It currently runs 55 on GPS with that engine with 2-3 people in it and the engine is very heavy for the boat, boat weighs about 500 lbs and engine weighs about 330 lbs. What I think would be fun to do is convert it to center steer, remove all the heavy items and made it a little race boat with a lighter engine that will push it to the 50+ mph range but weight less and it will ride better then. Any suggestions for something small, maybe 100 hp, light with a short shaft and fairly easy to come by, not some 1 0f 2 ever made type of thing. -thanks
