Hi!
I am now rigging twins on my Phantom 25. I have been reccommended to turn the props outward. I will have twin Merc 2.5 EFI SS engines (15 inch mids) spinning for a start labbed Mirage 27 pitch props. Propheight approx. 1 inch below the bottom.
Would you reccommend to mount the engines toe in or toe out. And how much?

With props spining out you set-up with toe out. 1/8" total, 1/16" on each engine as measured from the centerline of the hull.
I run them dead straight for minimum drag.

I run them the other way to take-out slack/preload all of the steering components. They end-up straight while running. We are talking about the diff. of 1/16" in measurements(each side) from the tip of the case to the tip of the propshaft(@24"lenght) as taken off the centerline of the hull so there isn't even very much angle to them while stationary or at slow speeds. But to each their own, both set-ups will be fine on your hull Toffen.

Toe adjustment is used with twins because of the "equal" torque forces at work that can be balanced to a nuetral straight-ahead angle of attack. Since triple engines can't take advantage of this adjustment because of the "unequal" torque forces(prop rotations) & the same two hydraulic steering cylinders controlling all three outboards that would also control just the two outboards on a twin install, this can't be a fair comparison. For this reason, most triple installations(both outboard or sterndrive) are tie-bar adjusted straight ahead. Twins are different...AirRide:)

Start strait, then test. Then test some more.Out generally will move the back of the boat around(hunting),in will feel strait but less responsive. But I think you will lose speed before either one is noticed.
